USPS did not introduce a new Global Forever stamp design in 2024. The official 2024 stamp-program announcements list the year’s issues without a Global-rate release. Searches for “USPS Global Forever stamps 2024” therefore usually mean Global Forever postage available or used during 2024—not a stamp first issued that year.
What was the 2024 Global Forever stamp?
There is no 2024-dated Global Forever issue to identify. The preceding new Global Forever design was African Daisy, issued March 14, 2022. The next was 1794 Compass Rose, issued January 24, 2025. A seller’s phrase such as “2024 Global Forever stamp” may describe sale year, stock year or mailing use, so the actual design and original issue date should be checked.
2024 fact check
| New Global Forever issue in 2024 | None identified in the official USPS 2024 program |
|---|---|
| Previous new Global design | African Daisy — March 14, 2022 |
| Next new Global design | 1794 Compass Rose — January 24, 2025 |
| Purpose | Single-piece First-Class Mail International 1-ounce letter postage, subject to USPS service availability and mailing standards |
| Forever feature | A genuine unused Global Forever stamp tracks the current qualifying international 1-ounce letter price |
Could an older Global stamp still be used in 2024?
Yes. Global Forever postage does not expire merely because its printed year or design is older. A genuine unused Global Forever stamp can satisfy the prevailing qualifying international 1-ounce letter rate. Extra postage may be needed for excess weight, nonstandard shape, a different mail class or other services.
How to identify a listing accurately
- Use the artwork—not the listing year—to identify the issue.
- Check the original USPS issue date and pane format.
- Confirm that the stamp says Global and Forever; a domestic Forever stamp is a different rate category.
- Treat “2024” as a seller or usage label unless an official issue record supports it.
Why the distinction matters
Issue year affects accurate product identification and collecting context. It does not by itself determine whether unused Forever postage remains valid. Keeping those two questions separate prevents an older Global design from being mislabeled as a new 2024 release.

USPS published its 2024 program through the initial 2024 stamp announcement, an additional announcement, and its remaining 2024 release schedule; none lists a Global Forever issue. USPS separately documents the 2022 African Daisy and 2025 Compass Rose Global issues.
