Train Forever stamps can refer to several distinct USPS issues. The clearest modern choices are the 2019 Transcontinental Railroad stamps and the 2023 Railroad Stations stamps. The 2024 Underground Railroad issue is also a Forever series, but it commemorates people and resistance to slavery—not trains.

2019 Transcontinental Railroad
Three designs mark the 150th anniversary of the railroad’s completion: the Jupiter locomotive, Union Pacific No. 119, and the golden spike. USPS issued them May 10, 2019, in a pane of 18.
2023 Railroad Stations
Five designs feature Point of Rocks Station, Main Street Station, Santa Fe Station, Tamaqua Station, and Cincinnati Union Terminal. USPS issued the pane of 20 on March 9, 2023.
2024 The Underground Railroad
This pane of 20 contains ten portrait designs honoring freedom seekers and people who helped others escape slavery. Despite the word “railroad,” the subject is the historical network of resistance, not railway equipment.

Are older train stamps Forever stamps?
Not necessarily. Many U.S. train stamps were issued before the Forever denomination or carry a fixed value. Check the printed denomination, issue name, year, and original format before treating a listing as a Forever stamp.
