The four Western designs

  • Cowboy hat: an enduring ranch and rodeo symbol.
  • Cowboy boot with spur: working gear rendered as decorative Western art.
  • Western shirt: a stylized garment with the issue’s tooled-leather character.
  • Longhorn belt buckle: an ornate buckle centered on a longhorn head.

Why they look like tooled leather

The artwork uses stippling—many small dots of color—to create a worn, gritty texture. Cacti, snakes, roses and stars frame the central objects, linking each design to visual traditions associated with the American West.

Mailing use

These are domestic Forever stamps. A genuine unused stamp remains valid for the current one-ounce First-Class Mail letter rate. The Western theme does not change the postage class. A heavy, square, rigid, oversized or international piece may need additional or different postage.

What to verify when buying

  • A complete original booklet contains 20 stamps across four designs.
  • The official issue date is 2021 even though the booklet margin carries a 2020 copyright.
  • Unused postage is different from a canceled collectible or first-day cover.
  • Check quantity and format rather than assuming every listing is a full booklet.
