No. Ordinary Forever stamps and Global Forever stamps are different USPS postage categories. An ordinary Forever stamp follows the domestic First-Class Mail one-ounce letter price. A Global Forever stamp follows the First-Class Mail International one-ounce letter price and can also cover an eligible international postcard.

How to Tell Which One You Have

Read the text on the stamp rather than judging only by its shape or artwork. A Global Forever stamp normally includes the word “GLOBAL.” Ordinary domestic Forever stamps do not become Global stamps simply because several are placed on an international envelope.

Can Ordinary Forever Stamps Be Used on International Mail?

They may be combined with other valid postage toward the required international amount, but the total must cover the applicable price. Mail weight, size, shape, destination and service can change the amount due. See the full Forever stamps for international mail guide for that calculation.

Do Both Types Stay Valid?

Yes, when they are valid and unused. Each tracks its own printed category at the time of use: ordinary Forever follows the domestic one-ounce letter price, while Global Forever follows the international one-ounce letter price. Their values can therefore change without becoming equal.
