A U.S. Postcard Forever stamp is currently worth 65¢ in postage. The rate took effect July 12, 2026. It covers one eligible domestic postcard—not an ordinary one-ounce letter and not an international postcard.

How Postcard Forever Value Works
A genuine unused stamp marked for the Postcard price remains valid for the current domestic postcard rate, even if it was purchased when that rate was lower. Its artwork and issue year do not change the postage category.
This value is different from an ordinary Forever stamp. An ordinary Forever stamp can be used on a domestic postcard, but at current rates it would provide 82¢ and overpay by 17¢.
Which Cards Qualify for the 65¢ Rate?
For retail First-Class Mail postcard pricing, the finished card must be rectangular and meet these USPS dimensions:
- Length: at least 5 inches and no more than 6 inches.
- Height: at least 3½ inches and no more than 4¼ inches.
- Thickness: at least 0.007 inch and no more than 0.016 inch.
- Construction: uniform paper or card stock that meets USPS card standards.
A square, oversized, folded, unusually thick or nonrectangular card may be charged at letter, nonmachinable or another applicable price. Measure the finished card rather than relying only on the packaging label.
How Much Do Postcard Forever Stamps Cost?
At USPS, the postage price and current value are 65¢ per Postcard Forever stamp. A booklet or pane costs the per-stamp price multiplied by its quantity. Retailer selling prices, shipping and package sizes can differ, so compare the total number of stamps and their postage category.
Can a Postcard Stamp Be Used on a Letter?
Yes, it can contribute 65¢ toward the postage, but one is not enough for the current 82¢ one-ounce stamped-letter rate. Add at least 17¢ in other valid postage for an otherwise eligible one-ounce domestic letter. More may be required for extra weight or nonmachinable characteristics.
Can It Be Used Internationally?
It can contribute its 65¢ value, but one domestic Postcard Forever stamp does not cover the current $1.75 international postcard rate. Use enough valid postage to meet the full international price and confirm that the card meets international size and content rules.
