How to identify the issue
Use the player portrait, printed inscription, issue year and pane layout together. A seller title alone is not enough to distinguish a single stamp from a complete pane or to establish collectible condition. Unused ordinary Forever stamps retain the current one-ounce domestic letter value; cancellation, condition and format matter separately to collectors.

The official 2012 announcement identifies four players and a 20-stamp pane. When comparing listings, check whether the offer contains all four designs and whether the count refers to individual stamps or complete panes.

- Confirm the exact player or issue, not just “baseball stamps.”
- Check stamp count and packaging.
- Separate postage value from collector resale value.
- For mailing, confirm the stamp is genuine and unused.
