What the designs show
The set presents microscopic views from the natural world rather than a chronological history of microscopy. The images include cells, tissues and organisms photographed or rendered through scientific imaging. For exact specimen names, use the labels in the USPS issue material; visual resemblance alone is not enough to identify a microscopic subject.
Science without unsupported design claims
Microscopy has a long scientific history, but USPS did not present this pane as a “4,000-year” timeline. The official sources also do not establish that Fibonacci ratios or a particular mathematical model caused the layout. Those ideas may be useful in a separate, sourced history of science, but they should not be stated as facts about this stamp’s design.
Postal use and preservation
Each unused stamp has the current one-ounce First-Class Mail Forever value. The envelope must still qualify under current weight, size, shape and machinability rules. Collectors who keep an intact pane should protect it from moisture, heat, pressure and adhesive damage and retain the issue information with it.
