At current 2026 values, three ordinary Forever stamps are needed to equal or exceed one Global Forever stamp. Two ordinary Forever stamps total $1.64, which is 11 cents short of the $1.75 Global value. Three total $2.46 and overpay by 71 cents.

Current Calculation

Postage Calculation Result
One ordinary Forever 1 x $0.82 $0.82
Two ordinary Forever 2 x $0.82 $1.64 – not enough
Three ordinary Forever 3 x $0.82 $2.46 – enough, with $0.71 overpayment
One Global Forever 1 x $1.75 $1.75

Formula: round up Global value ÷ ordinary Forever value to the next whole stamp. The result can change when USPS changes either rate.

Does “Equal” Mean Exactly Equal?

No. Three ordinary stamps are the minimum whole-stamp count that reaches the Global amount, but they do not have the same total value. USPS accepts valid stamps toward the required postage; it does not refund the overpayment placed on an envelope.

A more precise combination can use two ordinary Forever stamps plus at least 11 cents in other valid postage. The exact add-on denominations available to you determine the final combination.

Can Regular Forever Stamps Replace a Global Stamp?

They can contribute their current values toward international postage, but the mailpiece must still qualify for the international price you are trying to cover. Destination, weight, dimensions, shape and service can increase the amount due. A stamp-count calculation does not replace the USPS international eligibility rules.

When One Global Forever Stamp Is Enough

One Global Forever stamp covers an eligible one-ounce First-Class Mail International letter or an eligible international postcard at the corresponding rate. Heavier, oversized, rigid or otherwise nonstandard mail can require more. Review our international Forever-stamp guide before mailing.

Why the Answer Can Change

Ordinary and Global Forever stamps track different USPS categories. Their prices do not have to rise by the same amount or on the same ratio. Recalculate with the current values rather than treating “three” as a permanent conversion.

Official Rule

The USPS Domestic Mail Manual defines how nondenominated postage is valued. USPS international price and eligibility resources determine the amount actually due.
