U.S. superhero stamps span different years and postage systems. The 2006 DC Comics Super Heroes set carried the printed rate of its era and was not a Forever issue. Later Batman (2014) and Wonder Woman (2016) sets were issued as Forever stamps.

Why the year matters
The Forever program began in 2007, so a 2006 superhero stamp cannot be an original Forever stamp. An unused fixed-denomination stamp can still supply its printed postage value, but it does not automatically equal today’s one-ounce letter rate.
DC and Marvel are not one USPS series
Search results can mix official USPS issues, licensed collectibles, fan art and decorative labels. Confirm the issuing postal authority, denomination or Forever inscription, year and official announcement. A character appearing on merchandise does not prove that a matching U.S. postage stamp exists.
