What the Stamp Looks Like
The design uses William Speer’s 1955 black-and-white photograph of Elvis Presley. Presley’s signature appears in gold along the right side, while a small gold crown between “FOREVER” and “USA” refers to his “King of Rock and Roll” nickname.
The full pane was designed to resemble a vintage 45 rpm record sleeve. Its border lists number-one Elvis hits, and the reverse includes an Alfred Wertheimer photograph and the Music Icons series logo. Antonio Alcalá served as art director and designed the pane with Leslie Badani.
Can You Still Use Elvis Forever Stamps?
Yes. A genuine unused Elvis Presley stamp pays the current ordinary Forever value. One stamp covers an eligible domestic First-Class Mail one-ounce letter. A heavier, square, rigid, oversized or nonmachinable envelope can require additional postage, and international mail follows a different rate.
