Forever Flag Stamps

Quick answer: A valid ordinary U.S. Flag Forever stamp follows the current one-ounce First-Class Mail letter rate—82¢ as of July 12, 2026. A book of 20 therefore carries $16.40 in postage value and 100 ordinary Flag Forever stamps carry $82.00. The live product page controls the retail price, exact issue, count, and packaging.

American Flag Forever stamps have appeared in multiple years, designs, and book, sheet, coil, or roll formats. Similar flag imagery does not mean two listings are the same issue. Also check the postage label: a flag-themed Additional Ounce or fixed-denomination stamp does not have the same value as an ordinary Forever stamp.

Books, Sheets, and Rolls

Books are compact and convenient for smaller groups of stamps, while rolls or coils can be useful for frequent mailing and dispensers. Sheets keep stamps together in a flat pane. Compare Forever stamp books, roll options, and the packaging stated on each product page. Format affects handling and storage, not the value of an individual ordinary Forever stamp.

For a year-specific format comparison, use the 2022 U.S. Flag stamp guide, which links the matching book, sheet, and roll listings.

Issue Year and Validity

A valid ordinary Forever stamp retains the current one-ounce First-Class Mail letter-rate value even when it shows an older flag design. However, older fixed-denomination Flag stamps are worth the amount printed on them and should not automatically be treated as Forever stamps. Check the physical stamp's wording and the listing details, then see how rate-linked value works.

Everyday Mailing and Placement

Flag designs can be used for bills, office correspondence, personal letters, and other eligible mail. Apply postage securely in the upper-right area on the address side, following USPS addressing and placement guidance. Rotating the artwork does not create extra postage value, but correct placement and a readable mailpiece help processing.

One stamp is not automatically enough for every envelope. Check weight, dimensions, thickness, rigidity, and destination using the postage guide.
