USPS did not introduce a new Postcard-rate stamp design in calendar year 2024. The 2024 Postal Bulletin annual index lists the year’s new stamp issues but no Postcard-rate issue. Existing nondenominated Postcard stamps—such as Sailboats, Barns, and Coral Reefs—remained usable at the current domestic postcard price.
2024 Postcard Stamp Directory Result
| New USPS Postcard-rate issue in 2024 | None identified |
|---|---|
| New Postcard designs | 0 |
| Postcard rate at the start of 2024 | 51¢ through Jan. 20 |
| First 2024 rate change | 53¢ effective Jan. 21 |
| Second 2024 rate change | 56¢ effective July 14 |
| Postcard stamps already in circulation | Continued to track the current domestic Postcard rate |
This is a zero-result finding, not a missing record. The official 2024 new-issue list includes ordinary Forever, denominated, semipostal, presorted, and other products, but it does not list a new Postcard-rate stamp.
Which Postcard Stamp Could Be Used in 2024?
A valid unused stamp marked POSTCARD is nondenominated postage tied to the current domestic postcard rate. Its artwork or issue year does not have to say 2024. During 2024, mailers could continue using earlier designs, including:
- Sailboats Postcard stamps, issued in 2023;
- Barns Postcard stamps, issued in 2021; and
- Coral Reefs Postcard stamps, issued in 2019.

2024 Domestic Postcard Rate Timeline
| 2024 dates | Domestic postcard price | What a nondenominated Postcard stamp was worth |
|---|---|---|
| Jan. 1–20 | 51¢ | 51¢ |
| Jan. 21–July 13 | 53¢ | 53¢ |
| July 14–Dec. 31 | 56¢ | 56¢ |
Those are historical 2024 values. They do not cap an unused Postcard stamp today: a valid nondenominated Postcard stamp continues to follow the current domestic postcard rate.
Postcard Stamp Is Not the Same as Ordinary Forever
An ordinary Forever stamp follows the one-ounce domestic letter rate. A Postcard stamp follows the lower domestic postcard rate. Both can be nondenominated and remain usable after price changes, but the category wording determines the value.
A Postcard stamp is intended for an eligible domestic postcard. Large, thick, rigid, oddly shaped, international, or otherwise nonstandard cards can use a different price. Measure the finished piece and verify it with the USPS postage calculator.
Why Search Results May Suggest a “2024 Postcard Stamp”
- A seller may list an older Postcard design during 2024.
- A 2024 product page or rate article may be mistaken for a 2024 stamp issue.
- Ordinary 2024 Forever stamps may appear even though they are not Postcard-rate stamps.
- The 2025 Vibrant Leaves Postcard issue may appear in later pages discussing adjacent years.
Use the official issue date and postage category, not the page publication year, to classify the stamp.
