The wording on the stamp matters. A large letter “G” alone does not tell you whether the stamp is the 32¢ letter version, 20¢ postcard version, 25¢ presort version, or 3¢ make-up stamp.
Can You Still Use G Stamps?
Genuine, unused G postage is generally still valid at its original assigned value. USPS states that nondenominated and make-up-price stamps remain valid at their original issue prices. The presort-only version is different: precanceled postage is subject to presort and permit rules and is not a substitute for ordinary retail postage.
