What the stamp depicts

The vertical stamp shows Ruth Bader Ginsburg facing the viewer in a black judicial robe and an intricate white collar. Artist Michael J. Deas created the oil painting from a photograph by Philip Bermingham. USPS art director Ethel Kessler designed the stamp.

Who Ruth Bader Ginsburg was

Ginsburg served as the 107th justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Before joining the Court, she built a legal career challenging gender discrimination. USPS honored her majority opinions, influential dissents and public association with equal justice while recognizing her place in American culture.

Who this 100-stamp pack suits

The single portrait design creates a consistent look across a large mailing. It can suit legal organizations, educational programs, civic groups, commemorative correspondence and mail prepared for recipients interested in American law or women’s history.

Mailing use

Each unused stamp pays the current 1-ounce First-Class Mail letter rate. This 100-stamp pack therefore provides postage for up to 100 qualifying standard letters. Heavy, square, rigid, oversized or international pieces can require additional postage.
