Eight Details From the Picture Book

The stamp designs feature eight familiar details: the young bunny in bed, the three-bears painting, a toy house, mittens and socks, the mouse near the fireplace, the cow-over-the-moon painting, the older bunny knitting, and the bedside grouping of comb, brush, and bowl. Each design appears twice in a complete 16-stamp pane.

Issue and Pane Design

USPS issued the Goodnight Moon Forever stamps on May 2, 2025. USPS art director Derry Noyes designed the stamps and pane using Clement Hurd’s illustrations from the picture book by Margaret Wise Brown. The book-cover image appears in the center of the pane, while the reverse uses a black-and-white bedroom rendering.
