“Hydrangea Forever stamps” most directly refers to two designs in the 2017 USPS Flowers from the Garden issue. One shows blue hydrangeas in a blue pot. The other combines white hydrangeas with white and pink roses, green hypericum berries and purple lisianthus in a white vase.

The two hydrangea designs
Blue hydrangeas in a blue pot
This is the easiest design to identify from a short seller description. It is dominated by clustered blue hydrangea blooms arranged in a blue container.
White hydrangeas in a mixed bouquet
The second design is not hydrangea-only. White hydrangeas appear with white and pink roses, green hypericum berries and purple lisianthus in a white vase. A listing that calls it simply a “white hydrangea stamp” leaves out the other flowers.
The other two designs in Flowers from the Garden
The complete four-design issue also includes:
- red camellias and yellow forsythia in a yellow pitcher; and
- white peonies and pink tree peonies in a clear vase.
Those two designs belong to the same 2017 issue but are not hydrangea designs. Checking the complete set prevents a single flower name from being mistaken for the official issue title.
Artwork and visual style
Elizabeth Brandon painted the four still lifes after the tradition of Dutch and Flemish floral art from the 17th and 18th centuries. The arrangements are deliberately abundant and composed, which explains why multiple flower species appear together rather than as botanical specimen portraits.
Booklet versus coil versions
USPS produced Flowers from the Garden in a double-sided booklet of 20 and in large coils of 3,000 and 10,000. A current retailer listing may group several booklets into a 100-stamp quantity. That bundle size does not change the original USPS issue format or postage value.
| Description in a listing | What to verify |
|---|---|
| 20 stamps | Whether it is one complete double-sided booklet |
| 100 stamps | Whether it contains five booklets of 20 |
| Coil or roll | Whether it is an original coil-format product rather than booklets grouped together |
| Hydrangea stamp | Blue-pot design or mixed white-hydrangea bouquet |
