Pre-Forever year corrections
Forever stamps did not exist before 2007. Use the sourced 2000, 2005 and 2006 USPS issue directories to identify fixed and service-specific denominations without treating them as Forever postage.
Milestones that change how the list should be read
- 2007: USPS introduced the Liberty Bell Forever stamp.
- 2010: Holiday Evergreens and Lady Liberty/U.S. Flag expanded the program.
- 2011: new one-ounce commemorative First-Class Mail stamps began using Forever status.
- 2013: USPS introduced Global Forever for qualifying international mail.
- 2015 onward: Forever-style value indicators also appear on postcard and additional-postage categories, which are not equal to an ordinary one-ounce Forever stamp.

Frequently asked questions
Is every USPS stamp issued after 2011 a Forever stamp?
No. Ordinary one-ounce commemorative First-Class Mail issues use Forever status, but USPS also issues Global, postcard, higher-weight, Priority, fixed-denomination, presorted, semipostal and duck stamps.
Can an old Forever stamp still be used?
Yes. A genuine unused ordinary Forever stamp remains valid for the current one-ounce domestic First-Class Mail letter rate.
