Trees, autumn foliage and winter landscapes
Choose Autumn Colors for warm foliage, Bonsai Trees for an illustrated tree motif, or Winter Landscapes for snowy scenery. These are different views of nature: a miniature cultivated tree is not the same subject as a forest landscape.
Autumn Colors — changing leaves and woodland color

Bonsai Trees — miniature trees in illustrated designs
Bonsai Trees focuses on carefully shaped plants in containers rather than sweeping woodland views. The five illustrated designs include a juniper, maple, pine, azalea and banyan. The 2025 Winter Landscapes issue features five photographs of snowy American scenery. It offers a seasonal landscape option for winter correspondence without making a particular holiday the subject. This is the 2025 issue, not the separately issued Winter Scenes collection. USPS confirms its designs and booklet format.

Mountain landscapes and mountain flowers
For a mountain landscape, start with Ansel Adams. For flowers associated with mountain habitats, look at Mountain Flora. The two collections share a natural setting but deliver very different artwork.
Ansel Adams — black-and-white American landscapes
This 2024 issue brings Adams’ landscape photography to a set of 16 designs. Its monochrome treatment makes it an option for someone seeking mountain scenery and photographic detail rather than bright floral color. Rivers and waterfalls
Choose between a selection of protected waterways, one river shown across several states, and the movement of falling water. These collections should not be treated as interchangeable just because all three feature water.
Wild and Scenic Rivers — a variety of protected waterways
The 2019 issue presents 12 photographs of segments within the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. Choose it when you want a range of river settings rather than a collection centered on the Mississippi alone. USPS introduces the Wild and Scenic Rivers designs.

Mighty Mississippi — one river across ten states
The 2022 Mighty Mississippi issue uses ten photographs to follow the river through the states along its course. Its geographical story makes it a more specific choice than a general river assortment, particularly if the Mississippi is the connection you want your stationery to express. Waterfalls — falling water and rocky landscapes
The 2023 Waterfalls issue features 12 photographed waterfalls, with the waterfall name and state identifying each subject. Choose this collection when the falling water, rather than a broad river view, should be the main visual feature. USPS describes the Waterfalls issue.

How to choose a nature design
- Start with the actual subject. Autumn Colors emphasizes foliage; Bonsai emphasizes individual cultivated plants; Ansel Adams emphasizes landscape photography. A word in the issue name alone does not tell you what will appear on the envelope.
- Compare the artwork with your stationery. For example, autumn photography can echo warm paper colors, while a black-and-white landscape can complement a simpler layout. These are styling suggestions, not claims about postage performance.
- Count the whole order, not just one sheet. The current selections range from 50 to 100 stamps per listing. Five sheets of Mighty Mississippi contain 50 stamps; five sheets of Waterfalls or Wild and Scenic Rivers contain 60; five Ansel Adams sheets contain 80. Five sheets or booklets do not always mean 100 stamps.
- Open the product listing before buying. Compare the exact design image, selected Pack Size, current price and availability. The quantities above were checked on September 5, 2026; the live product listing controls the order.
