Each complete pane has two of every design. Across five panes, the 100-stamp listing contains ten of each car.

Photography and Pane Design

Photographer Len Rizzi shot the ten toy cars speeding along the bright orange track. William J. Gicker served as art director, and Greg Breeding designed the stamps. The diagonal arrangement helps the pane read as a racing scene instead of ten isolated product portraits.

Why the Issue Was Created

USPS released the pane for the 50th anniversary of the toy line, first introduced in 1968. The vehicle names appear on the individual stamps, making the complete pane easier to identify and inventory.

Hot Wheels vs. Hot Rods

This 2018 issue depicts ten toy vehicles. The separate 2014 Hot Rods Forever stamp guide covers two customized 1932 Ford Deuce roadsters. Check the year, pane size and subject before comparing offers.

Five Panes, 100 Stamps

One official pane contains 20 stamps. Five complete panes produce the stated 100-stamp package while preserving ten copies of every car design.

Mailing Use

Each genuine, unused stamp covers the current one-ounce First-Class Mail letter rate. A heavier, square, rigid, oversized or international mailpiece can require additional postage. The toy-car theme does not change the service.

Who This Design Suits
