Issue and Design Facts

USPS issued the Appalachian Trail Forever stamps on February 28, 2025, during the trail’s centennial year. USPS art director Antonio Alcalá designed the stamps using existing photographs. The typography follows the trail theme with undulating letterforms that suggest the route’s turns and elevation changes.
