What the Design Shows

Nancy Stahl’s digital illustration shows a manatee resting calmly near the water’s surface. USPS uses the issue to draw attention to the threatened West Indian manatee, including risks from motorboat strikes and loss of the aquatic plants on which the animals feed in Florida and nearby warm-water coastal areas.

Awareness Stamp, Not a Donation Stamp

Save Manatees is ordinary First-Class Mail Forever postage. It is not a semipostal fundraising stamp and the listed postage price does not include a dedicated charitable surcharge. Choose it to put a conservation message on mail, not as a substitute for making a direct donation to a conservation organization.

Original Booklet and Retail Quantity

USPS issued this design in a double-sided booklet of 20. Five complete booklets provide the 100 stamps in this listing. That retail combination should not be described as one original USPS sheet of 100.

Mailing Use

Unused genuine Save Manatees stamps remain ordinary Forever postage for the current one-ounce First-Class Mail letter rate. The conservation theme does not alter their value. A heavier, square, rigid, oversized, international or service-enhanced piece can require more postage; use the postage decision guide for the completed mailpiece.

Who This Design Suits

  • Wildlife, marine-life and Florida-themed correspondence.
  • Environmental education, nonprofit outreach and conservation events.
  • Everyday letters where a calm single-design booklet is preferred.

What to Check on Receipt

  • Five double-sided booklets and 100 total stamps.
  • One consistent vertical manatee design throughout.
  • Booklet header reading Save Manatees, plus legible USPS and Forever markings.
  • Clean die cuts, intact backing, quantity and condition before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does buying Save Manatees stamps make a conservation donation?
