Stamp honors Union Terminal, depicts illustrations by Down the Street Designs, features Cincinnati location, includes Tamaqua, Point of Rocks, Main Street, and Santa Fe stations, captures history of Union Terminal, represents Art Deco style, designed by Roland Wank, altered by Paul Philippe Cret, lists in historic places, built from 1929 to 1933, opened ahead of schedule, called “Temple to Transportation,” listed in 1972, designed to hold 17,000 passengers, accommodated 216 trains per day, experienced brief hiatus from 1972 to 1991, renovated, houses OMNIMAX theater, hosts museums.
